Looking for a part-time Program Coordinator to take the lead on our Climate Action Coach Program.
The ideal candidate has a strong communications background and is friendly, outgoing, entrepreneurial, loves networking, and is passionate about sharing information and resources to create tangible solutions to climate change.
The Coordinator will be responsible for the design and delivery of the Climate Action Coach Program, which offers islanders access to incentives and information to help them retrofit their homes and businesses to save energy, lower their footprints and reduce emissions.
As the Program Coordinator, you’ll help enlist local retailers and contractors to become part of the program, encourage sponsorships, design and deliver ongoing webinars and other educational opportunities, proactively search for avenues to expand the program into the Southern Gulf Islands, write articles and other materials, answer questions from islanders about home retrofits and rebates and ensure that all administrative and reporting requirements for the program are completed.
The role requires someone with strong collaborative leadership and interpersonal skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, excellent partnership building skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience in home renovations or construction is considered an asset, along with experience in the delivery of educational programs, webinars, and social media.
This is a one-year contract with the possibility of extension based on funding.
The pay rate is $30/hour for 11 hours/week. The number of hours may increase if additional funding is acquired. Some weeks will require more or fewer hours, depending on organizational needs, so candidates will need to have flexibility with their time.
