Thank You!
We want to thank all of you who donated to our One Cool Island Campaign! We made our modest goal of $10,000 and your contributions will give us a great start towards making a difference on climate change here on Salt Spring Island. We are rallying around climate change as our one and only focus, because we know that you, your family, friends, and neighbours all care about the impacts of climate change and believe that both individually and collectively, we can make a difference.
We are happy to offer this 20 min. recorded presentation on our website by our Chair Bryan Young speaking to the contents of CAP 2.0 and how we plan to go forward. Using the new citizen-driven Climate Action Plan, Transition Salt Spring will be putting your donations to work to unite islanders and create a strong and urgent focus on the need to lower our emissions at least 50% by 2030. At the same time, we will work with others to help our community and our ecosystems become more resilient to the changes already underway.
We, like you, are grateful to live in this beautiful place with such a vibrant community. Let’s not mistake the power we have to make change. We are a small enough place to see the impacts of our actions, and also big enough to make a difference. There’s an excitement building about the prospect of our little Climate Action Plan’s promise of big change. When we invite island groups to sit down and talk about how we can all work together to implement our new Climate Action Plan, they are saying Yes!
If you haven’t yet donated, please consider becoming a monthly donor as this really helps us plan for all this work on a stable foundation of regular funding. Can you help us out with a monthly donation of $10, $20 or $50?
Thanks again and here’s to a great 2021, working together!
