Are you concerned about climate change? Wondering how you can be a part of a plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% in ten years, and help make Salt Spring resilient in the face of climate change?
Transition Salt Spring is developing a Climate Action Plan to be completed Spring 2020. We are working in collaboration with many Salt Spring community groups, agencies and our regional government bodies to develop a plan with clear, actionable recommendations for transportation, food, agriculture, buildings, infrastructure, forests and ecosystems.
Now we need you!
To find out more about the plan and share some local food, come to this interactive zero waste event featuring:
– Information about the Climate Action Plan (following International Panel for Climate Change methods)
– Information about updates to 2011 Salt Spring Climate Action Plan
– Ways you can lend your voice and ideas
– Ways you can take climate action today
– Trivia and video contests
– Local songstress Suzanne Gay with her climate interactive musical set
This is a FREE ALL AGES COMMUNITY LEARNING EVENT brought to you by Transition Salt Spring Climate Action Group and sponsored by the Institute for Sustainability Education & Action and CRD.
